Princeton Theological Seminary does not normally accept international students into the M.Div. program or two-year M.A. program. Reasons for this policy can be found on the International Students Information page. If you feel that an exception to the policy regarding International M.Div. Applications is warranted in your case and you choose to apply for admission to the Seminary, in addition to the application forms we require:

1. An explanation of why you think an exception should be made in your case.
2. Verification that you have financial resources over the three years of the program of a sufficient amount per year to cover expenses for a single student (or for a couple and dependents if applicable). The financial aid given to qualifying students only covers tuition and comprehensive fee charges. All living expenses must be paid by the student.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required in almost every theological seminary or divinity school in the United States for applicants whom English is not a primary language. Princeton Seminary¡¯s policy is that all applicants whose native language is not English will be required to take the TOEFL. Such applicants should register for the TOEFL at the earliest opportunity, as scoring and processing take considerable time and the results must be received by January 3. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (on the paper-based; 213 if computer based) is required by Princeton for the Th.M. and M.A.; a minimum of 55 on each of the three parts (19 if computer based) is expected. On some dates when the TOEFL exam is administered, the TWE (Test of Written English) is given at no additional chargeTOEFL
